A note to my Royals Extra Subscribers

King Charles III's cancer diagnosis today shocked us all, and we wish him the very best

I want to let my subscribers know that I posted my Royals Extra about King George VI’s last day several hours before the news broke that his grandson, King Charles III is being treated for unspecified cancer.

We will hopefully learn more about the King’s treatment and prognosis, unlike the situation more than seventy years ago when royal physicians withheld the cancer diagnosis not only from the King and his family, but the public at large. His death on February 6th, 1952, although from his cardiovascular disease rather than cancer, came as a great shock since it was assumed that his health was improving.
