When the King traveled to the market town of Pickering in North Yorkshire today, the Royal Train was pulled by the Flying Scotsman steam locomotive.
As the King unveiled a plaque commemorating the 100th anniversary of the engine, my mind flew back to memories of his grandparents, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, and their many travels to her family’s estate at Glamis Castle in Scotland on the overnight Flying Scotsman.
